Welch Allyn Braun ThermoScan Pro 4000 Review

We bought this thermometer because I'm a fanatic about monitoring my sons' fevers and thought it would be very quick and easy.First, it needs a backlight so you can see the temp in the dark.But more importantly, it lasted less than four months (with careful use).I'm sending mine back for repair.In the meantime, I'm using the Exergen Forehead thermometer that I've had over a year.If I were you, I'd buy it--about $54.95 at Walmart.It has proven to be MUCH more dependable.the main reason I got the Braun is because my pediatrician's office uses that very model and I wanted something that was accurate.The Exergen readings were very close to the Braun.What's the use of having a $200 thermometer that won't even take a temperature because it doesn't detect that the probe is in place?Wish I had used my money for something else!
