I shave everyday and thus have used many electric shavers in my time.I have found that the Braun self-cleaning shaver is the best.It gives me the closest shave and also has that great self-cleaning unit which completely cleans and lubricates the shaver.The reason why I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 is because the cleaning cartridges are quite expensive and basically need to be replaced every month.One way to make them last longer is to clean your shaver by every other use rather than everytime.

Braun Syncro 7000 series clean & charge base Review

The hold down latch on my charger broke, and after reading the experiences of other people, I decided not to replace my charger. Instead, I made a strap out of two 1/4 inch wide tie wraps to see if strapping the top plunger down would work. The strap worked perfectly. I then made a more permanent strap out of narrow nylon strapping. Simply hold the plunger down, slip the strap around the whole unit, and clean and charge the shaver. This is a cheap and simple fix that works.

Braun 150 Series 1 Mens Shaver Review

I have never been able to wet shave, as my sensitive skin burns when treated to a razor - indeed, after wet shaving, the pores along my jaw line would literally bleed. So, I consider myself an electric shaver expert. I just recently junked an expensive, but inferior razor, and decided to try the Braun Series 1 1-150 razor. Well, I was not disappointed!

This very nice razor charges quickly, gives a very good shave, and is washable - a very nice feature. It fits in the hand nicely, and the plastic cover holds on quite well (I actually shave in the car during my morning commute, so I need a razor that can stand up to above normal abuse). The precision trimmer snaps out, works well, and then snaps in with a flick of the thumb.

So, let me just sum up by saying that I put heavy use into a razor, and need one that takes the abuse and does its job without fail. The Braun Series 1 1-150 lives up to my needs, and I am very happy with it. Take the advice of one who knows, and buy this excellent razor!

Braun Shaver Series 5 570cc Review

The Series 5 is a re-design of Braun's popular 360 Complete. It uses the same cutter, so the shave is the same as the 360. The differences are in the overall shape - Braun has done a great job with the re-design. The shaver is easier to grip and has the same basic form factor as the top of the line Braun Series 7 (Pulsonic). Unlike the 360 Compete, the Series 5 is washable under the tap. It's NOT submersible or a wet shaver, but you can safely use water to clean it.

This model lacks the pulsating action of the Pulsonic, but don't let that stop you from buying it. I've used the Pulsonic and, on my face, the Series 5 does as good of a job in most spots, and a wee bit better on the neck. I also find the "push up" format for the sideburn trimmer to be better/easier to use than the "flip out" format on the Pulsonic.

The best part of any Braun shaver is the cleaning system. In a word, it's perfect - no other cleaning system comes close. Works well, and leaves the shaver spotless and lemony-fresh. The down side, of course, is that you need to purchase refill cartridges. If you clean every day, expect about 4 weeks per cartridge. I get mine to last about 4-5 months by cleaning once a week using the cleaning base, and cleaning the rest of the time with water. You have to remove the cartridge and re-cap it so you don't lose solution via evaporation.

Neat trick for quick cleaning - just click the head release button but don't remove the head. Then turn on the razor and let the stubble fall out. Gets about 75% of the whiskers out in about 2 seconds. Safe for the razor - the tip is in the user's manual.

The Series 5 comes in two models (760 and 790) - the only difference is the number of lights to show you the battery charge, so look for whichever is on sale. It also comes without a cleaning base (the "cc" models have the cleaning system, those without the "cc" in the model do not).

If you favor a gentle shave over a ultra close shave, the Braun is for you. While I like the shave from the Series 5 (more so than the shave from the Pulsonic), I have to say that I prefer the shave from the Norelco Arcitec - it's a rotary shaver, but still quite comfortable, and excels at getting those pesky neck hairs. My absolute favorite foil shaver is the Panasonic Arc IV - 90% as comfortable as a Braun, but closer and faster. Check all of them out - all are great shavers with unique features.

Braun 3612 InterFace Rechargeable Shaver Review

I think I'm secretly hoping it breaks.
As in the case of my walkman,it's amazing how such a magnificent piece of electronic engineering can be rendered so user-unfriendly by poor interface design.
This shaver is good enough to keep once you're paid for it, not bad enough to justify buying a new one, but I'm very disappointed.
The beard trimmer projects out less than half an inch, about an inch down from the top, which makes it cumbersome at best, as you practically have to hold the side of the whole razor against your face and barely see what you're doing. (The last Braun I owned had one that projected a full inch, near the top, allowing you to direct the cut and still see what hairs you're cutting)
On the plus side, it is extremely rugged (so it's unlikely to break anytime soon, I'm afraid), well shaped for use, and recharges superbly.The so-called cutter is useless, but the main foil section works beautifully, so if you don't need a quality beard trimmer (as I do) then it's a good value.And it's at a pretty good price...

Oral-B Professional Care 8850-DLX Electric Power Toothbrush(Two Power Handles) Review

This is a great product and all the reviews for the single-unit ProfessionalCare 8850 DLX being sold on amazon apply.

The only difference between this and the single-unit version is that this one has two power handles, but still only a single charging base.This isn't really a problem at all since the battery life is more than a week if you brush daily (they claim two weeks).We just alternate which unit sits on the charger every couple of days.Initially I was worried that the unit that wasn't charging would fall over a lot, but the center of gravity is low and they have a grippy bottom, so even on a wet counter top, they stay upright.In hindsight, having only a single charging unit saves space without really causing any problems.

One thing did raise my eyebrow... this product comes in a retail box that says clearly on the front "Exclusive Dental Office Unit".I called Oral-B about it and according to them, this either means that Discount Depot (the folks actually selling this item through amazon) is either owned by a dentist (who can order dentist-only products from Oral-B), or this product was questionably obtained somehow.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but I'm still a little suspicious, especially considering the numerous complaints in their seller feedback.That said, my transaction with them was fine and you can't beat the price for two of these toothbrushes. Product came in the mail faster than I expected and the product works great.

Braun 5180 Silk-Epil X'elle Easy Start Epilator Review

I bought this epilator in preparation for my wedding--for which I have found myself doing all kinds of things I never bothered to do before.In terms of hair removal specifically, throughout my life I have tried shaving, plucking individual hairs (SOOO time-consuming), and waxing.This is the first time I've ever used an epilator, and I have to say, all things considered, I'm extremely pleased.

Being blonde, I have relatively light body hair, but I still find it quite irritating--especially in light of the fact that I will be spending the majority of the honeymoon in a bikini, and the idea of running back to the room to shave is not one that pleases me.

Probably the thing that most concerns people about the idea of an epilator is the potential for pain: I mean, what seems like a billion hairs at once will be simultaneously ripped out of your skin by the roots.Ouch.Considering, though, that that's what happens with waxing anyway, I would say it feels about the same.Actually, on the legs, I would say it hurt less.

I did take advice I read beforehand, though, and used it on legs I waxed relatively recently--so the volume of hairs there was relatively low.Even so, I would liken it to the feeling you get when an electric shaver accidentally grazes your skin.I did NOT use the provided cooling glove.

On the UNDERARMS, however, I experienced the greatest, most cripplingly unholy pain I have ever experienced in my life.The only thing that I can think of that even comes close is getting pierced--with a needle, not that stupid gun at the mall.It's that same stomach-dropping, light-headed, don't-forget-to-breathe-or-you-might-faint all-consuming-death pain. (Incidentally, I am a big baby with things like this--I just do them anyway.)Seriously, I had to keep checking to make sure it was just the hair--not tattered pieces of flesh--being ripped off.(For those of you wondering, no, I have never given birth, so that may very well be worse--but I DID find myself needing to employ everything I have ever seen on TV about breathing through the pain.)

Because of this, I skipped the "beginner" head (which hurt just as much but accomplished far less in the same time), and went straight to full power with the advanced head to get it all over with ASAP.BUT, now my underarms are delightfully hair-free!

SO, in conclusion, I definitely recommend this product for anyone looking to win the war on annoying body hair.IT REALLY WORKS, removing hairs I could barely even see, and the little light is awesome.

I would also recommend that, if you are worried about the pain, you take some VERY deep breaths and begin with the underarms...because next to that, legs, and yes, even bikini area, seem downright pleasant.:)Good luck!

Braun 790CC Electric Shaver, Series 7 Review

I have owned many electric shaver over the years. Most all have been top of the line Norelco or Braun eclectic shavers. The Braun 9595 is replacing the Braun 8585 Activator that I have used since they first came out.

Having spent well over $200.00 buying ear thermometers, none of which were accurate or dependable I asked the nurse at my MD's office which one she was using, she said Braun.I searched the Braun ear thermometers and decided on this model and I have not had to search anymore.It is easy to use, results appear in seconds that are reliable, and it comes with a holder from which you just pick it up, use, and put it back on the holder till the next time it's needed.I am about to buy a 2nd one so there will be one on each floor. Braun 1775 FreeControl Rechargeable Washable Mens Shaver Review

I've long been a single-head braun shaver fan, but when my old one broke after many years I was stumped for a while on what to replace it with. I used a Remington SF3BPT Micro Screen as backup but it just didn't shave closely.Most of the recent brauns either had narrow or multiple heads or were just too expensive.

I picked up this shaver at Target one day and I've loved it since. It has that nice width head, a close shave, and fits my hand nicely.Battery time between recharges and recharge time are good, and it cleans out easily.

So, if you want a great shaver without paying $100, try this one.

Braun 11B Foil and Cutter Set for Select Series 1 Models Review
